On Tuesday 4th October 2012, the KCH Limb Reconstruction Trust began their Station Coin Collections at New Eltham…
Pictured here is Lesley White highlighting awareness of our charity to early commuters…
Moving swiftly and the roadshow travelled to Cannon Street to catch the start of their business day
Mrs Anne Groom , related to Mr Graeme Groom our Consultation Orthopaedic Surgeon and Trustee, came along to support the collection
Geared for city life, Cannon Street lies dormant till evening rush hour and so our roadshow headed out to London Bridge, where here Karen is trying to negotiate the wind with the balloons!
We met lots of interesting people who gave generously also, with lots of stories to tell some related to limb reconstruction and some working in the NHS.
The next stop was into London’s Charing Cross.
Here at Charing Cross Station I met up with Sally who trained as a Nurse at King’s College Hospital in 1955. Sally mentioned she will try to come ‘wine tasting’, our next charity event at the Clarendon Hotel, London on 9 November 2012 organised by Trustees Mark Phillips and Karen Sherris.
There was lots of community spirit today and here discussing our charity was a member of the Police Community Support.
One member who was keen to join in about the ‘Wine Tasting’ was famous actor Tony Haygarth whose work also included the Darling Buds of May , Rosie and George Gently. He told me he was on his way to an interview but I won’t divulge the script incase he does not appear!
Taking part in the coin collection is great fun, an opportunity to meet lots of new people and raise money for a fantastic cause. If you would like to take part in our next collection on 1st November 2012 then please let us know on 0784 157 6084
