Welcome to King's College Hospital Limb Reconstruction Trust

Welcome to the King's College Hospital Limb Reconstruction Trust website

The King’s College Hospital Limb Reconstruction Trust (KCHLRT) is a registered charity founded in 2007 to support patients of the hospital's limb reconstruction unit. Among its trustees are specialist surgeons and nurses, other professionals and former patients. It was set up to:

  • support medically, physically, psychologically and socially King’s College Hospital patients undergoing limb reconstruction treatment;
  • increase awareness about disability and to change attitudes to it.

We are the only charity that caters for the specialist needs of limb reconstruction patients.

Our stories
An aspiring young rower was hit by a motorbike while on a training run not far from home. His left leg took the brunt of it, sustaining a multi-fragmentary intra-articular fracture, in other words, a mess. It's a story of courage, an inspiration to others, and it has a good ending.
