Psychological help

Donation boosts psychological help for patients

Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, one of the UK’s most successful and respected law firms, has donated the sizeable sum of £5,000 towards the mental health well being of King's College Hospital patients undergoing limb reconstruction.

This gift was secured by trustee Mark Phillips, consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon, following discussions he had with the law firm.

It is encouraging to see that attitudes to mental health issues are more widely acknowledged and accepted.

Mr Phillips will continue working with Irwin Mitchell with a view to broadening the availability of psychological help such as counselling to patients undergoing such trauma and frame wearing.  Mr Phillips has recently attended a trauma symposium in Manchester.
