The only charity that caters for the specialist needs of limb reconstruction patients

Friends raise £760

King's College Hospital Limb Reconstruction Trust's Karen Sherris and Debbie Bond raised an impressive £761.41 with a cake and brac sale at King's College Hospital on 2 December.

Karen, a trustee and Clerk to the Trustees, said: "This is our best yet. We all got rather emotional when we counted up the money." She and Debbie Bond, also a trustee and a limb reconstruction nurse at King's, wish to thank all those who helped them on the day.

Their stall sold cakes and bric a brac, along with Karen's popular hand-made candles. A hand-made Christmas cake donated by professional cake maker Irma Phillips was raffled. The winner did not wish to claim his prize, which was then given to one of King's orthopaedic wards - an early Christmas present for the patients.

The next meeting of the Friends' support group will take place on Thursday 11 February 2010 in the Sun and Doves Public House at 7pm. This will be the opportunity to start planning events for the coming year.
