A golf day and evening fundraiser at Westerham Golf Club on 6 May 2011 raised an amazing £17,000 for KCH LRT and another King's charity, the Liver Transplant Surgical Services.
The event was organised by former limb reconstruction patient Matt Strange and five others, who are organising and taking part in the Siblings challenge, a relay swim across the Channel this July, in memory of Matt Brooker. You can read more about this challenge here.
Sarah Phillips, KCH LRT co-chairman and Matt's consultant orthopaedic surgeon, and Karen Sherris, clerk to the trustees, attended the evening function on behalf of the trustees.
Dame Judi Dench, star of film and stage, added glitter to the occasion and presented the golfing prizes. She was kind enough to praise the work of KCH LRT and told Karen: "You do amazing work at the charity."

Apart from being delighted with the success of the day, Matt also celebrated winning the "nearest to the pin" golf prize.
During the evening, an auction was held with prizes ranging from a five-day stay in a villa in Minorca to an Olympic helicopter ride and tickets to see Graeme Norton.
Matt and the other siblings have already exceeded the £10,000 they were hoping to raise with their relay swim. They are now pushing to reach £20,000 with further sponsorship deals, to cover the hire of the boat needed for the swim and other expenses.
